This illustration was created for an exhibition and book commemorating the bicentennial of Austrian composer Anton Bruckner’s birth. Titled "Antonologie", the book and exhibition opened on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Atelierhaus Salzamt gallery in Linz, presenting a unique anthology of sound and space through comics and illustration.
Special thanks to Holger Jagersberger for the invitation and the opportunity to explore Bruckner’s life and work, particularly through the lively and humorous text by the artist Austrofred, which served as the inspiration for this illustration.
The book features contributions from 32 comic artists and illustrators, most of whom were artists-in-residence at Salzamt. It was launched as part of the Next Comic Festival, whose 2024 edition was also dedicated to Bruckner.
The exhibition also featured contributions from Italian artist Vania Santi, who painted a mural inspired by the composer, and comic book author Vinz Schwarzbauer, who presented his graphic novel "Mäander", published by the Swiss publishing house Edition Moderne.
